Beware of Fat Free Diets

Many women believe that cutting out almost all the fat they eat will help them to lose weight, this is absolutely not true. Your body must have a certain amount of fat in order to function correctly. In fact, cutting out too much fat can lead to premature aging as it will more than likely cause your skin to become quite dry. Another problem with fat free diets is that many of the pre packaged foods that are “fat free” are loaded with harmful processed sugars and this is a sure set up for diet failure. The same can be said of drinking diet soft drinks that contain artificial sweeteners. There has actually been a link in recent studies which show that these artificial sweeteners may actually be causing your body to store fat.

The best solution for weight loss is to eat just about whatever you like but cut the portion size down significantly. For example, if you want to eat steak and a baked potato, eat steak and a baked potato! However, you may want to cut the steak and potato in half and only eat about 50% of the amount you normally would. Some experts say to load your plate with the amount of food you normally would and then scrape off half of it back into the pot before sitting down to eat. A great method of reducing your portion size, when eating out in a restaurant, is to share with a friend by ordering just one entrée between you.
